Mary and the Witch’s Flower is a 2017 Japanese animated fantasy film, directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, written by Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Riko Sawaguchi, and produced by Yoshiaki Nishimura. This animated movie was based on a 1971 book, The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart. Originally in Japanese, I watched the English version on YouTube, which starred Ruby Barnhill, Louis Ashbourne, Kate Winslet, Jim Broadbent, Teresa Gallagher, Morwenna Banks, Rasmus Hardiker, and Ewen Bremner. Director Hiromasa Yonebayashi also directed When Marnie was There as well as he was the Key Animator of Spirited Away. Check out the official movie trailer for this animated film.

A redhead girl escapes a fire by flying on a broom. She takes with her magic seeds. But she later accidentally drops them at her English countryside, which germinates a magical plant in the forest. This redhead girl is a young version of Aunt Charlotte, who had attended Endor College, studying magic.
