The corrupt fraudulent liar Wizard with no powersAt 2:30pm, I walked across the street during sunny and dry but chilly weather. The rain had stopped at around nine in the morning. But I was dressed warm with a KL moto jacket, KL gray beanie with pompom, matching knit scarf and Choupette fingerless mittens. I stopped at the ATM before entering the theater to buy my ticket. I decided to watch the 3:30 pm show because it was 3D with the recliner seats, and I just wanted to have fun. I waited in the lounge area for a couple of minutes. At 2:51 pm, I turned my head to the front glass doors and noticed it was raining outside. I had come prepared with a collapsible light raincoat that folds up into a small piece, which fits into my small purse. I had a choice between pink or green 3D glasses, and I chose the green glasses because I like Elphaba better.
Elphaba continues to fight for animal rights activism against the corrupt Wizard and Madame Morrible
I enjoyed reading the novel Wicked by Gregory Maguire because it was like a witchy soap opera. But I am aware that Hollywood will make a lot of changes to create their own version. I still thought the movie was entertaining and fun, had good pacing, and edited well because the story flowed well. I also thought the acting was better in this Wicked: For Good Part 2 movie than the first Wicked movie. Both Wicked movies were more of adaptations of the Wicked novel because of all the twisted changes. But in this Wicked Part 2 movie, they even added some ideas from the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie as well as other new ideas that wasn’t even in the Wicked novel.Elphaba flies around and exposing the Wizard in sky messagesThe movie was light and positive, giving off a warm feeling, as well as it ended with a happy ending. It was filled with action and flying scenes, which was fun to watch, especially in three dimension. In some of the 3D scenes, I felt I was actually in that scene, experiencing the special effects, such as fluttering confetti, flying things, and walking around in the scenes. By now, Hollywood is aware that many people know about current politics in society as well as in the world, and I feel this movie was all about giving people hope for the future, similar to the movie Superman (2025). There was a revolution scene, which reminded me of all the revolutions against Trump and Elon Musk. But this revolution was by fearful Ozians who believe the propaganda lies that Elphaba is evil, and they united to rid this evil. The Ozians have been dumbed-down to believe in all the lies because they now live in dystopian OZ. Elphaba’s fearlessness does free the animals, imprisoned by the corrupt and compulsive liar Wizard, but they are still fearful, and they become displaced, traveling in a caravan to find a safer home, which reminded me of the Palestinians being terrorized out of their land. It might also be false hope to sedate the viewers into a new normalization.
Glinda flies around inside her mechanical bubble to get her places
Many characters change throughout the movie in order to be better people and improve Oz for everyone. I thought Glinda or Galinda turned into Zohran Mamdani because she wanted to work for all the people of Oz, including the Munchkins and animals, so that everyone will live together in peace and harmony. Elphaba appears to have retired from being an activist, giving all her witch things and magic tricks to Glinda, believing that Glinda can use the Magic Books more effectively because she can use her socialite status to make a difference for everyone. She walks off with Fiyero, who is now the scarecrow. She found her true love and soulmate. She doesn’t care about his scarecrow new appearance because afterall she is green. The Wizard permanently leaves Oz on his hot-air balloon because he thinks Elphaba is dead, and he realizes that Elphaba was his daughter. He had gotten his own daughter killed, not realizing whom he was fighting. Everyone gets what they wanted—Elphaba gets Fiyero, Glinda is the President of Oz, and the Ozians live in peace and harmony without the fraudulent liar Wizard terrorizing them with his propaganda lies as well as destroying their land and all the animals. The animals also get equal rights with the rest of Oz. They are also happy that Elphaba is no longer there, spreading her activism messages in the sky, which none of them believed anyway because they were brainwashed by the fraudulent liar Wizard to believe his lies. They believed she was the actual terrorist, terrorizing them to kill them.
Socialite Glinda works for the Wizard and Madame Morrible for wealthy power and prestige
The movie was about working together for a positive change for everyone. Glinda and Elphaba still appeared to be friends, but busy with their own agendas. But Glinda is still two-faced, struggling with her longtime friendship with Elphaba as well as working with the corrupt Wizard and Madame Morrible as their political influencer puppet. Glinda also reminded me of the late Charlie Kirk. Glinda wanted to marry Fiyero while Elphaba continued to expose the fraudulent liar Wizard, wishing for his death. They decided to work together for a positive change. Glinda reveals to Elphaba that she is her best friend. They were just catty before, always competing with each other because Elphaba had more powers and Glinda was jealous of Elphaba’s powers, while Glinda was a wealthy and popular socialite without any powers. And, they both wanted Fiyero. But Elphaba hated the corrupt Madame Morrible and the Wizard, refusing to work with them because they wanted to destroy the animals. Glinda had sold out to Madame Morrible and the Wizard for wealth, prestige and power. She even tried to persuade Elphaba to join them, but Elphaba refused. Elphaba had her own agenda, mostly an animal rights activist agenda. She was also a vegetarian. Moreover, Elphaba was being demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West because she was an activist, fighting the Wizard and trying to expose his lies. But the Ozians feared Elpaba because they believed the propaganda lies about her, similar to what the Zionist US media does to the Palestinians, resistant group Hamas, Russia, China, and Venezuela, and etc, to try to take over other lands and/or steal their resources. When all the animals were packing up and moving elsewhere, it reminded me of the Palestinians being displaced.
The lovers Elphaba and Fiyero are reunited realizing it is true love and their are soulmates
This 2025 movie, Wicked: For Good, or Wicked Part Two, is a musical adaptation of the 1995 Wicked novel as well as some ideas from the 1939 film adaptation of the Wizard of Oz novel by L. Frank Baum. Directed by Jon M. Chu, written by Winnie Hotzman and Dana Fox, and produced by Marc Platt and David Stone, this movie starred Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum. In this movie, the Cowardly Lion turns out to be the lion cub that Elphaba and Fiyero had saved from their sorcery college experiment lab, and now he has grown up fearing to be a ferocious lion leader and king of the animals. Elphaba changes Fiyero into the scarecrow to protect him from being killed by the other soldiers because he has woken up to the truth and he is considered to be a traitor. Nessarose turns Boq Woodsman into the Tinman because he still has a crush on Glinda, and he wanted to break up with Nessarose and move on elsewhere. Nessarose makes his life miserable because she wanted to go to the next level in their relationship.
The corrupt Madam Morrible doing her magic to create a tornado in Kansas and kill Nessarose
In this movie, it appears that Madame Morrible was the one who created that tornado in Kansas, which caused Dorothy’s house to fly off to Oz, fall on Nessarose, and kill her, creating friction between Elphaba and Glinda because Glinda had given Dorothy those Magic Shoes, that she had no use for, in order to thwart Elphaba from achieving her activism goals. It is also noted that Madame Morrible was imprisoned for her corruption, while the Wizard was never seen again.
the flying monkeys in flight
I thought the flying monkeys looked sad and helpless because of the abuse they had endured by the Wizard and Madame Morrible, who had tricked Elphaba into using her powers on the monkeys, which is irreversible. Elphaba regretted listening to them because she loved the animals, and she never forgave the Wizard and Madame Morrible for that, as well as other things. The flying monkeys were actually sweet and helpful, providing Elphaba and Glinda with information they needed to know. They were like flying messengers, similar to pigeons.
