Choice, Chance, and Change: The Role of Decision-Making in Life Transformation

We are always doing better than we think. What we have or not accomplished doesn’t matter!

The sense of comparisons and expectations and the thought of meeting these standards completely blinds us to the 85% of the stuff we are doing correct.

Instead, we focus on the balance 15% which we are unable to achieve to prove ourselves. This makes us bitter with no confidence and losing opportunities.

The amount of venom and negative energy that we inject in ourselves is much more damaging than the pleasure we could have got when we conquer.  We feel depressed that we are not good enough unless we meet their standards. This is because we are expecting happiness by changing our core to satisfy others. That craving to make all happy comes at the cost of spoiling our present as we are chasing an unseen future of ourselves that will never give us happiness and peace.  In the process, all we find is only EMPTINESS AND LONLINESS.

We have to understand that our surroundings and circumstances shape and mould us.  We all have strengths and weakness and WE CAN CONTROL ONLY SO MUCH. We place un-necessary pressure on ourselves to be perfect in every way. What is necessary here is self-acceptance. One has to realize that self-acceptance doesn’t mean we must agree with everything we’ve done or be happy with every outcome. It simply means recognizing our efforts and staying good to ourselves.

Of course, I do agree that one wants more and need to grow, but the real change only will happen when we acknowledge who we are despite the expectations of others instead of questioning our worth whenever we fall short of someone else’s standards. Instead of trying to change ourself entirely for someone, we have to be open and transparent and accept our circumstances than to change our cores to attract or maintain someone who is unwilling to see the committed part in us.

When we see the parts of ourselves that don’t measure up to someone else’s standards, we must also recognize the good in us — the beautiful qualities and positive force that contribute to the lives of others.

Comparison is certainly not the right approach to growth.  It traps us in a cycle of feeling worthless, never enough, and incapable. When we learn to see our authentic beauty, we also begin to see it in others without neglecting our self-worth. Others can inspire us, but we don’t need to become a copy of someone else in the name of improvement or to meet the demands of others.

When we truly embrace ourselves as we are and not live by someone else’s rules and regulations, everything else will follow naturally.  So, stop tearing yourself down and SETTLE..
