Global superstar Shakira has taken the music world by storm once again with her electrifying 12th studio album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), released on March 22, 2024. This highly anticipated album marks her triumphant return to the music scene after a nearly seven-year hiatus, following the release of her critically acclaimed 2017 album “El Dorado.”

As far as I know that Shakira’s voice is classified as a contralto. This vocal range is typically the lowest female register, known for its richness and depth. However, Shakira’s strength goes beyond the typical contralto. She possesses a powerful and raspy chest voice that can also be quite soft and expressive. She also has a strong and clear falsetto that adds another dimension to her singing, it resonance cavities in your skull. This versatility and unique blend of techniques contribute to her signature sound that I always loved the most.

Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran

“Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” is a captivating blend of genres, showcasing Shakira’s signature Latin pop sound infused with elements of bachata, rock, electronic dance music, and regional Mexican music. This eclectic mix reflects the artist’s diverse musical influences and her ability to seamlessly blend different styles, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new.

The album’s lyrical content delves into themes of female empowerment, heartbreak, resilience, and self-discovery. Shakira’s powerful vocals and emotive delivery bring these themes to life, creating a listening experience that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.

“Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” boasts an impressive 17 tracks, including seven global smash hits that have already topped charts and captured the hearts of fans worldwide. These include the infectious “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro, the poignant “Monotonía” with Ozuna, and the fiery “TQG” with Karol G.

The album also features a collaboration with Argentine producer Bizarrap, the viral sensation “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” which broke four Guinness World Records and became Shakira’s first top-ten single globally.

Critical Acclaim and Commercial Success

Upon its release, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” received rave reviews from critics, who praised Shakira’s vocal prowess, the album’s catchy melodies, and its powerful message of female empowerment. The album also achieved commercial success, topping charts worldwide and solidifying Shakira’s status as one of the most influential Latin music artists of all time.

The title “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (Women Don’t Cry Anymore) serves as a powerful declaration of female strength and resilience. It is a message that resonates deeply with women around the world, encouraging them to embrace their power and overcome challenges.

Throughout the album, Shakira delivers anthems of self-love and independence, reminding women that they are worthy of respect and happiness. Her music serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, empowering women to rise above adversity and embrace their true selves.

“Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” is a testament to Shakira’s enduring legacy as a musical icon. Her ability to reinvent herself, connect with her audience on an emotional level, and deliver music that is both timeless and culturally relevant has solidified her position as one of the most celebrated artists of our generation.

With this album, Shakira has not only returned to the music scene with a bang but has also delivered a powerful message of female empowerment that will continue to inspire and uplift women for years to come.
