A world where superheroes like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America and Black Panther exist — MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). It all began with a genius in a metal suit and exploded into a universe filled with gods, sorcerers and multiversal chaos. Over the years, it introduced iconic characters like Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Spider-Man and many more — all living in the same interconnected universe.
Each movie or series adds to a bigger storyline, which is divided into phases. Phases that build toward massive crossover events like The Avengers and Endgame, where heroes team up to face world-ending threats.
The Heroes we know, the Future we don’t
Marvel’s upcoming releases promise a thrilling mix of fan favourites and long-awaited debuts. With a fresh lineup of films on the horizon, the studio is diving deeper into bold stories and iconic characters. One of the most talked-about upcoming projects is The Fantastic Four, which will introduce a fresh team of heroes with deep comic book roots and a major role in future storylines. Another title gaining attention is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, rumoured to mark a new chapter for Peter Parker. The film is expected to explore his life post. No Way Home, where the world no longer remembers who he is.
Adding to the excitement is Avenger’s: Doomsday, set to be released in December 2026 and teased as a massive crossover event with universe-shaking consequences. The movie will bring together heroes from many different worlds to fight a major villain named Doctor Doom. It’s being called the biggest Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame.
Secret Wars— Marvel and its new beginning
“The multiverse is dying. Only two universes remain. Today, Earths collide.” — SECRET WARS, 2015. Marvel is preparing to end this phase with Avengers: Secret Wars, set to release in 2027. The movie is expected to bring together heroes, timelines and different universes in what could be Marvel’s biggest crossover so far.
More than just a final battle, it’s set to become a key moment in Marvel’s story. At the July event, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared that Secret Wars will likely act as a soft reset for the MCU. “We’re utilising [Secret Wars] not just to round out the stories we’ve been telling post—Endgame, just as importantly — and you can look at the Secret Wars comics for where that takes you — it very, very much sets us up for the future.”
Feige teased what’s coming next after the 2026 release of Avengers: Doomsday.
“Endgame, literally, was about endings. Secret Wars is about beginnings.”
He explained that this won’t erase past events but will help Marvel move forward with a cleaner, more focused storyline. Feige called the next phase, “the most cohesive and well-planned chapter we have ever done”, aiming to simplify the timeline, recast some main characters and make the universe easier to follow for new fans.
