Happiness in small things is the joy that can be found in every day life, even in simple moments. It can involve being grateful for what you have and taking time to appreciate the beauty around you, that many ignore.  Happiness comes from our ability to see simple things for their purity and enjoy them fully.

Choice, Chance, and Change: The Role of Decision-Making in Life Transformation

Anyone can be happy in this world since happiness doesn’t depend on the status of the person. Most of us rely too much and base our happiness on wealth and material possessions and feel lost without them. But the real fact is none of that brings us happiness. Money is not at all a matter for being happy.  True happiness, that deep and underlying current of contentment in life, simply cannot be found in material things. It can be discovered in something that goes beyond the materialistic things.

We all search for happiness, but we forget that happiness is within us. Happiness comes with the feeling of inner joy and satisfaction.  It all depends on one’s attitude and at the pace where one can understand that affection and satisfaction for ourselves and our dear ones will bring happiness and it is the one thing, we can’t buy using money.  It is about sharing your very self with the world around you.

People often tend to believe their happiness will only come from achieving significant milestones or accomplishments, rather than finding joy in the smaller, everyday moments of life.   The best things in life truly are free. The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts. The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.

To be happy, one needs protection, a wall of security.  One must learn to build a barrier around our small happiness, to shield it from the outer world with its daily disturbing fears and uncertainties.

We often wonder about the reason for our existence, which is still a mystery to us. We are so caught up in the web of fame, fortune, and money that we lose sight of the most important things in life.  Our lives, our culture and our society have become so overly complicated that it has had a destructive effect on our minds. Our lives have become so complicated that we treat it as though it’s the way things are supposed to be.

Honestly, even small simple pleasures can make one happy, LIKE :-

  • When our parents are happy and healthy
  • When the whole family sits together for breakfast, lunch or dinner or when the whole family including everyone from all generations sits together for late conversations & trust me the feeling of it can pull out all tensions from head
  • When we eat something different from our normal meals.
  • When we get a free treat from our friends
  • When that special person wishes us on our birthday
  • When we see a flat sale or discount in a mall
  • When any male member of the family takes up the responsibility to cook food for the whole family
  • When we get free coriander leaves & chillies with vegetables
  • When expensive things are brought in our home, even if it is a small mobile, we celebrate it.
  • When we are able to squeeze toothpaste out of an almost empty tube
  • When we travel through flights
  • When we get extra recharge in our phone.
  • When one of our family members gets a good job
  • When we manage our house with proper planning & stay happy even if we face thousands of problems in life.
  • When we wake up early morning when the world has no time to make trouble. Nature always gives you the biggest smile on your face. Look at the trees, listen to birds chirping, feel the cold breeze and just enjoy the magic.
  • When we listen to music or engage in hobby
  • When we lower our expectations
  • When a child holds your hand or smiles at you. Damn, you cannot find something pure like this.
  • When you feel the warmth of the sun
  • When you take a moment to smile at yourself in the mirror
  • When you call a friend, you haven’t spoken with in a while.
  • When you watch pigeons, crows, sparrows and doves eating the rice grains and dal which your Mum gives them on a plate in your balcony.
  • When you get wet in the rain which leads to a feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation, it’s a way to embrace the moment and let go of stress. Even the smell of the rain can be calming and stimulating.
  • When your dear ones do the smallest things, that we are being loved and cared for, even in the smallest of ways is a blessing and assures apparent peace and bliss in us and around us.

And so on and on and on ……………………………………………

Ever wonder how some people almost always seem happy, no matter what’s going on in their life?  Even when life’s difficulties occur, they seem to have a grace and gratitude about life that many of us don’t understand.  One of the reasons they can get through the tough times with such gratitude is because they’ve learned how to enjoy the little things in life.

Simple little things make us feel happy from inside! Slow down. Make time for doing ‘nothing’. It is often when we are idle that we begin to focus on things we have missed in the busy hours of the day. Slice out half hour or half day just to empty your soul for refilling.

Learn to appreciate even the simplest pleasures and value what you already possess, rather than constantly striving for more or longing for what you don’t have.

Sometimes, we just need to remind ourselves how lucky we are. The mere sense of living, being alive is happiness enough. True joy can only come from within. The only thing that will make you happy is being happy with who you are, how you are, what you are. Sometimes, we just need to go with the flow. Nobody else can create it for us.

As someone has rightly said – The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less. Happiness depends upon ourselves. It’s so simple, yet so true If you want to be happy, BE.
