For this post, I decided to watch different videos from different people about schizophrenia to ascertain Nick’s medication changes and the effects of the prescriptive medication changes on his mental health. His personality, behavior and actions changed from the medication that he was given, which resulted in a tragic outcome. I feel the murders were not premeditated. I think the situation would have ended differently if he did not have schizophrenia or if he was on the right medication. And he probably would not have needed to self-medicate with a drug addiction.
TMZ video reports on Nick Reiner’s schizophrenia. He will likely plead not guilty by reason of insanity. I hope they put him in a mental institution because he needs help, where he can serve his time and be forced to get the mental health and drug addiction help he needs. He will likely stay there a long time, maybe a lifetime. When his mental health improves in a mental institution, he will likely spend the rest of the time realizing what he had done on December 14th. It is a very sad case for the whole family. He will likely be there for a long time anyway, since his parents weren’t able to help his schizophrenia conditions as well as his self-medication drug addiction, which led to the sudden recent tragedy.
Another TMZ explains Nick’s timeline. The mixture of prescription drugs he was taking had messed with his mind, and it wasn’t helping his schizophrenia. It actually appeared the medication that he was given had worsened his condition. People had noticed a different personality from Nick. He is usually friendly and social, but the prescription drugs had changed his personality to make him appear zombie-like, which led the arguments and emotional outbursts with his parents to turn bad. Nick became “erratic and dangerous” when doctors changed his schizophrenia medication, which led him to do things he wouldn’t normally do, such as kill his parents in a sudden fit of rage, without realizing what he actually did.
The YouTuber, TheKarmicDF, does a card reading about the Rob and Michele Reiner to find out why Nick Reiner did this. I think her reading makes sense, based on different videos I watched about this incident. It wasn’t planned or premeditated. He went to his parents to ask for something, maybe money, and the argument suddenly went bad, which turned into a crime of passion. He ended up doing something he wouldn’t normally do because of his schizophrenia and the mixture of prescription drugs he was on that messed up his brain. He blacked out, went out of body, and went crazy. He then regretted it later because he didn’t know why it happened. She mentioned there were two people involved.
This YouTuber, Lady Zelda Kelly, used different cards to do a short Reiners reading. It is similar to the TheKarmicDF’s card reading, but Lady Zelda Kelly noted that there will be more information coming out, especially on December 20th and 25th. She also mentions that there were two people involved in the murder.
The Mayo Clinic defines schizophrenia as “a serious mental health condition that affects how people think, feel and behave. It may result in a mix of hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking and behavior. Hallucinations involve seeing things or hearing voices that aren’t observed by others. Delusions involve firm beliefs about things that are not true. People with schizophrenia can seem to lose touch with reality, which can make daily living very hard.” Delusions may also include disorganized speech, which causes disorganized thinking. Treatment is mandatory, which includes therapy, medicine, and dealing with everyday activities. If people aren’t aware they have this mental disease, then they will like experience untreated psychosis. Their symptoms will likely become more severe, requiring be admitted into a mental hospital because of even worse thinking abilities, processing skills, social experiences, and injuries. It can even lead to death. It is therefore important to diagnose schizophrenia as early as possible because acquiring early treatment will help control schizophrenia symptoms before the person’s conditions become serious.
The Beyond Heartbreaking Legends video explains Rob Reiner and Billy Crystal’s close friendship. I am already aware that Rob Reiner and Billy Crystal were best friends since the first time they met on the movie When Harry Met Sally, where Rob was the director of this movie and Billy was the main actor in this movie. Rob had confided his issues about Nick’s worsening mental health condition to Billy, and he doesn’t know what to do. It is stressing him out and he fears the worst. He expressed that he feared something bad will happen because of Nick’s condition, and he felt powerless in the situation. He appeared to be feeling hopeless about home situations since before Thanksgiving. He appeared helpless that he wasn’t able to heal his son’s mental health condition. He had become exhausted and frustrated from trying many methods to help Nick, but nothing was working out. Billy Crystal has known for a while, who knows how long, about Rob’s struggles with helping Nick as well as Nick’s mental health issues.
The Retro Cut video notes that the slashed throats with a knife is symbolism for silencing someone from speaking about something. Both Rob and Michele’s throats were slashed with a knife. Nick’s police record had a gang charge? The murders had to do with a gang activity? Nick Reiner was a Nepo Baby, who made friends with the wrong people. He befriended and connected with an organized crime group, who used Nick to do their dirty work. He was schizophrenic, desperate to connect with others, and the group took advantage of his desperate state for acceptance. The organized crime group probably wanted to silence Rob Reiner. This video also summaries Rob and Nick’s relationship. They didn’t bond because they were very different, although Rob and Michele loved all their children and wanted to help them, especially Nick and his issues. The aforementioned card readings in this post, as well as other videos, appear to be true that there are others behind this crime. Nick had made friends with the wrong people, who used him to silence his father. Nick Reiner was likely the organized crime’s new member, joining to upstart his career, but he most likely had to participate in an initiation ritual to prove himself to the group, which is why it was mentioned in the card readings that there was one person with him, helping him do something. It was likely Nick’s initiation ritual for acceptance and entrance into this group or secret society. He was having a hard time starting his writing career, and he likely did this initiation for his future career and job opportunities, similar to what many celebrities do with the Illuminati. But I wonder if he was aware that he had to kill his parents because it was described as an argument with his parents that had suddenly gone bad.
In this Beyond Heartbreaking Legends video, Billy Crystal’s tribute speech to his best friend at the funeral. Rob felt that Nick was changing, or spiraling downward, and he didn’t know how to help his son. Rob was afraid of doing the wrong thing. Sometimes, Nick was doing well and acting normal, which gave Rob hope that Nick was improving. But suddenly, Nick would relapse into drug addiction and schizophrenia, making him act crazy and scary. Rob felt that Nick couldn’t control his actions and behavior under his drug addiction and mental health, which might lead to a worse outcome. Trump explains why he had stated that crazy comment after Rob and Michele’s death. It is obvious that Rob Reiner and Donald Trump hated each other for political reasons. They were on different sides and they didn’t agree with each other. There could be other reasons behind it that I am not aware of.
On May 6, 2015, Rob and Nick did a podcast, displaying that Rob and Michele cared and loved Nick, and Nick knew they loved him. It seemed everything was fine in May. But in December 2025, Nick Reiner’s schizophrenia medication was worsening his mental health, making him act “erratic and dangerous,” right before the sudden deaths of his parents. He also seemed unstable and “out of his head.” From Nick’s photograph in this video, he appears to be under medication of some kind. He also looks like he gained weight, most likely from the medication. It is also noted that he was receiving treatment for his mental health and drug addiction. His schizophrenia medication was changed, three to four weeks before his parents’ sudden death.
Hence, I feel the schizophrenia medication changes had worsened his condition. He was also taking treatment for the drug addiction. Schizophrenia medication tends to cause weight gain. He looks like a different person, appearing like he is somewhere else, whether out of body or spaced out in another world. It is no wonder that many schizophrenic that I have heard about refuse to be on medication because they feel it isn’t working and it makes them feel different. Instead, they tend to opt for self-medication with other drugs, which turns into an addiction. And, if they don’t properly and immediately treat their schizophrenia, it could lead to psychosis, which will worsen their mental health. Therefore, I feel that Nick Reiner should be placed in a mental institution to serve his time, while still receiving treatment for his schizophrenia and drug addiction.
