On Sunday, September 14th, while browsing on my Microsoft Windows, checking out entertainment headlines, mostly about fashion, I noticed that today is Emmy Night on CBS, channel 2, in Southern California. At four, the pre-Emmy Awards show started with the red-carpet interviewing. An hour later, the awards show started at five. There is also an encore performance at eight. I changed the television channel to CBS, channel 2, in Southern California, and I watched the red-carpet chaos while making some popcorn and drinking a bottle of Kombucha.
Live, at the Peacock Theater, in Los Angeles, California, the red-carpet area was swarmed with people, dressed in formalwear—black and white suits, tuxedos, and fancy gowns. Kevin Frazier and Michelle Turner interviewed celebrities about their roles, movies, nomination, and designer outfit, including jewelry. Even the host, Nate Bargatze, was interviewed. Comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short were interviewed together, and they stated that they will likely attend Selena Gomez’s wedding as guests and friends. Alan Cummings, Harrison Ford, Adam Brody and his wife Leighton Meester, Sam Rockwell and Leslie Bibb, James Marsden, Tony Goldwyn, Jason Isaacs, Gayle King, and ICE-T were interviewed. Cooper Koch talked about the movie he starred in, which was based on a true story. Ben Stiller and his wife, Christine Taylor, were interviewed, and Ben seemed very terse and quite evasive about future projects. Jason Segel and his fiancée, Kayla R. as well as Noah Wyle and his wife were also interviewed. I noticed only the nominated celebrities, actors, producers and writers, were interviewed.
At five o’clock, the 77th Annual Emmy Awards show started out with a comedic skit about the invention of television. The comedian and host, Nate Bargatze, performed in this skit, along with three other men. After the skit, Stephen Colbert walked on stage, receiving a standing ovation.

Then, Nate explains that each actor will get only 45 seconds for their speech. He donated $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of America. If the speech is longer than 45 seconds, then the donation amount will be reduced by $1000. If the speech is shorter than 45 seconds, then the donation amount will be increased by $1000. If the celebrity talks for 45 seconds, then the amount will stay the same. Since Seth Rogen’s speech was less than 45 seconds, the donation amount increased to $106,000.

The Supporting Actress in Drama Series goes to Katherine LaNasa in The Pitt.
Jenna Ortega’s decorative halter top with huge colorful gems looked fun and artsy, paired with a simple black long skirt with a side slit. She walked on stage with Catherine Zeta-Jones, dressed in a black lacy and sequin gown. The donation amount went up to $98,000.
The Supporting Actor in a Drama Series goes to Tramell Tillman in Severance. He gets a standing ovation as he walks towards the stage for his award.
The Lead Actress in Drama Series goes to Britt Lower in Severance.
Reba McEntire, along with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman, performed the theme song from The Golden Girls sitcom, Thank You for Being a Friend.
The Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series goes to Hannah Einbinder in Hacks. At the end of her speech, she adds Fuck Israel or ICE (both are crap anyway), and Free Palestine, although the words Fuck Israel were cut out in bad editing because it was still kind of obvious. I can tell when they cut something out via editing or muting because it was cut out abruptly rather than smoothly. Hannah is a Jewish-American, and she wanted to make a clear distinction between Zionist Israel and Jewish people because Zionist Israel’s actions have nothing to do with Jewish people. She even added that if she talked more than 45 seconds, she would pay for the extra time. The donation amount went down to $80,000.
The Best Reality Competition Program goes to The Traitors. Alan Cummings accepted the award with his speech.
The Supporting Actor in Comedy Series goes to Jeff Hiller in Somebody Somewhere. The donation amount went down to $74,000.
The Directing for a Comedy Series goes to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg for The Studio. They shared the Emmy trophy. I wonder who took the Emmy home.
The Directing for Limited or Anthology Series or Movie goes to Philip Barantini for the movie, Adolescence. The donation amount decreased to $64,000.
The Directing for Drama Series goes to Adam Randall for Slow Horses.
The Best Scripted Variety Show goes to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. The donation amount has now increased to $98,000.
The Writing for Drama Series goes to Dan Gilroy for Andor. The donation amount decreased to $73,000.
The Supporting Actor in Limited or Anthology Series or Movie goes to Owen Cooper in Adolescence. The teenage boy gets a standing ovation as he walked towards the stage.
The Writing for Limited or Anthology Series or Movie goes to Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham for Adolescence. The donation amount decreases to $36,000. But Nate decided to cover Owen’s speech time amount, which made the donation amount increase to $60,000.
The Writing for Comedy Series goes to The Studio writing team, which included Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Frida Perez, Peter H, and Alex G; and they kept their speech very short, barely saying anything, which increased the donation to $99,000.
The Live Variety Special goes to SNL50 The Anniversary Special. The team received a standing ovation.
The Supporting Actress in Limited or Anthology Series or Movie goes to Erin Doherty in Adolescence. The donation decreases to $94,000.
The Lead Actress in Limited or Anthology Series or Movie goes to Cristin Milioti.
The TV Academy Chairman, Cris Abrego, announced that CPB is ending because Congress defunded the public broadcasting network to silence cultural broadcasting. Public Broadcasting is where most kids watch Sesame Street and Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, as well as interesting cultural shows. I used to watch it a lot when I was young. It is sad that it is ending.
The Bob Hope Humanitarian Award goes go Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen. They talked about working for love, not fear, by supporting certain charities.
Vince Gill and Lainey Wilson sang during the In Memoriam 2025. The donation amount decreased to $52,000.
The Lead Actor in Limited or Anthology Series or Movie goes to Stephen Graham in Adolescence.
The Best Talk Show goes to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He also gets lots of cheering as well as a standing ovation.
The Best Limited or Anthology Series or Movie goes to Adolescence. The donation amount has now decreased way below 0 at -$26,000.
The Best Comedy Series goes to The Studio. The donation amount continues to decrease and it is now -$60,000.
The Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series goes to Noah Wyle in The Pitt.
The Best Drama Series is The Pitt. The team gets a standing ovation, as they go up on stage to receive their award. Since the donation amount was negative, Nate and others added money to make it $350,000.
But, overall, I thought this award show was quite sad because they were trying hard to get views and stay on the air. They were aware that less people were watching television and there were probably less people in the audience, even though the seating looked full. I recognized some familiar celebrities. But I haven’t seen any of these movies or television shows.
